Yeah I was studying USSR and then this! Does anyone know how long it takes for them to refresh an exam?

That's a shame. The Intro to Modern Middle East wasn't bad and worked well with the TESC class since the material covered was almost the same for both. It's going to be harder now to test out of the BA in History...

I emailed Prometric and was told that USSR will be available later in the year (no estimated date given). At least we know it will return THIS year.

Just wanted to confirm that Money & Banking (listed earlier in the thread with date unknown) has been pulled for review. Just had a guy at the testing center turned away.

Anyone know if General Anthropology is still up to take for now? I need to get that exam done, rather sooner than later.

It has been pulled and is no longer available, though it is supposedly returning later this year. There are no more tests available that use the old scoring system.

What section are you filling with this exam? If for GenEd/Free Electives you might consider criminal justice, it's now listed as six credits. There is another forum member working to clear up the change with TESC as they have not yet recognized the upgrade by prometric or ace. Hopefully this will be taken care of shortly. You could also just contact TESC and ask them to plot the exam into your degree plan.

If they also give you trouble create a helpdesk ticket requesting an appeal. Here is the link to the exam DSST Criminal Justice factsheet, download and attach a copy to your email. I've always found it easier to provide any/all supporting documents in the appeal email to save them from having to investigate it themselves, which it seemed some did not like to do. This will push the registrar and possibly the general ed committee/evaluations team to update, and more than likely reclassify (eg AOJ 102/103), the current credit assignment of the exam. The current DSST list effective date is July 2013.

Another option would be to take the Straighterline course. Use a twofer coupon (BGS310) and take two courses within the month. If you decide to go this route send me a PM. Note: Both courses must be purchased at the same time to receive the immediate discount. Otherwise it's a hassle trying to get someone to plead your case and have someone add another course for you.

Hey bricabrac,

I only need 15 more credits to complete my BA-SS from TESC.

That's 6 Free Elective credits, 6 Concentration Credits, and 3 Personal/Social Responsibility credits.

I'm a little confused because I recently completed my capstone and it was just added to my evaluation a few days ago. They moved Intro to Sociology from Personal/Social to Concentration, so that explains that hole. I was planning on filling the 6 concentration credits with CLEP Educational Psychology and DSST Organizational Behavior. It's the 6 free electives and the three personal/social responsibility credits I haven't assigned tests to yet.

I need to check up on that Criminal Justice test. I know I attempted and failed either that or Intro to Law Enforcement a few months ago, but I can't remember which, so I may be ineligible for right now.

I was hoping that by taking the General Anthropology, they would put Sociology back in Personal/Social, move US History II from Gen Ed electives back to Concentration where it originally was, and General Anthropology would take the remaining 3 Gen Ed elective credits. If it will help you to help me, I will go ahead and type out what my evaluation looks like.

^^Remember, you can log into your DSST account and you will be able to see very easily which tests you have taken, the date, and the score. Makes it very easy to keep track of your "record.

battlefrof72,

Suggestions in Red '

The software tends to populate courses however it wants. Call Advising and ask them to "PIN" Sociology to the personal & social responsiblity section. And then move History II back to Area of Study.

FYI - How PINNING a course was explained to me is that they tell the program not to accept the course in any other possible sections. By doing this, it will always remain in that one section.
