DSST Life Span Devel Pshyc. HELP!!

I passed the CLEP Human Growth and Development exam but I have to take the DSST Life Span Developmental Pshyc exam now. I have heard that they are basically the same thing. I HAVE to pass in order to continue teaching at my school next year. I am NERVOUS!! Anyone taken the DSST exam? Any tips? Any and all advice will help...thanks.

Hi Nymanzanita,
I just took this test as a filler a few weeks ago. It is very similar to the CLEP HG&D and I even used the Peterson's CLEP to prepare for Lifespan. I think there are a few threads about this one but I found it very heavily focused on Piaget and early development. There was only one question on stages of death and a smattering of "older" stages. Prepare as you did for the CLEP and you will do great. Good Luck!

Once you login you will see 5 choices of threads/boards. Specific Exam feedback is the last choice at the bottom. You have to be a paying member of IC to access this thread and the flashcards. Once you enter that thread just scan down until you see the exam you want to view and then click on it for the specific feedback for that exam by those that have already taken the exam. I hope this helps. Good luck! I"m taking this exam myself in a few weeks.

Sorry, have not been here much lately. Marianne202 gave you the general information but since I had problems finding out how to get in at first, here it is...finding your exam specific forum thread 101....
When you first sign onto InstantCert and then click on discussions, there is another place to sign on in the upper right hand corner. Then, the drop down, at the bottom, as Marianne202 says, is the Exam Specific Forum sites. Once there you can either scan or there are 2 different search locations, the one at the far right allows you to search that forum only -- put in "lifespan" and all will be revealed. I used HG&D cards, REA book, and Peterson's practice and got a very good grade. You can do this and protect that career. |
