For anyone interested in taking the intro to computing DSST test, here is my experience. I put it off for a few months in fear that it would be hard with my limited computer knowledge. I used the instantcert cards and knew them well enough to score 90% through the deck. I still was not 100% confident due to some posts on forums about pieces of information I was unsure of, and ordered a second deck from free-clep-prep. Instant cert had the majority of content covered pretty well, but there were actually quite a few bits of information that freeclepprep provided where instant cert fell short (laws, spreadsheets, security). If you know both of these decks well, you will fly through it. I took the test in 23 minutes and finished with a score of 475. Looking back, instant cert was enough to pass, but using both systems allowed me to pass with ease. Good luck to everyone. Bachelors complete.

I took it without studying at all, and got a 437 in about 30 minutes. I will say that if you are under the age of maybe 40, you would definitely have to study - not because it's so hard, but because it is extremely outdated. I hadn't heard some of these things in 15 years, maybe 20! Floppy disks, RAM, WYSIWYG - seriously! If my 10-yo computer nerd son - who is learning Java and Python, and knows WAY more about computers than I do - took this test, he would not know what in creation they were talking about. He only knows what a 3 1/2" floppy disk looks like because it is the "save" sign on Word.
