DSST Computerized Testing Facilities

Hello,

I've seen discussion on forums regarding dantes computer testing centers where you get instant test results. Would anyone happen to know if there is a center in NJ?

I've called prometrics, no help. Also gone through the locate a test center on the prometrics site. They have listed schools in bridgewater, montclair and edison. I called them all and they do not offer dantes tests.

I have heard Mercer CC has computerized DSST I tried to call today, but they close early on Fridays. I will try tomorrow morning.

Where are you in NJ? I think I also heard Brookdale and Georgian Court have computerized. I may also check Warren CC I know Raritan Valley is pen & pencil.

Yes I 've been working off of the same list...All near me did not administer dantes this is why I mentioned prometrics needs to update their site.

I'm in Roselle Borough (next door to Cranford). Ive tried NJIT, Fairleigh Dickenson, Montclair State, Somerset VoTech, UCC, MCC. Many offer CLEP only.

Please let me know what you find out on Mercer CC. I will try William Paterson, Brookdale, and Georgian Court. Warren Cty CC would be a long drive but for the instant gratification probably worth the miles. I'll make some calls on Monday to inquire. Strayer I understand has computer testing but it's just too far for me. I've been going to the TESC Site (pen/pencil with 3wk wait).

Was just hoping maybe someone in NJ already knew of a site. Ill also post back if I find out anything useful.

bricabrac, I went to Brookdale Community College in NJ for my DSST in Intro. to Law Enforcement which btw is pretty easy. They're open Mon-Sat. extremely convenient, no appointment necessary just check their schedule online. I drove 1 hour to take an exam there but found it much better than scheduling somewhere weeks ahead and then feeling overanxious or not ready.

I did some of my early credits down at Brrkdale, I think I called about testing there back when my Mom still lived there. I live out in Hunterdon County so Brookdale is about an hour and a half for me. It is not far off the Parkway so it might be shorter for you Bricabrac. You could try calling tomorrow, I checked and most of the CC's are open Sat. 9-12

Do you recieve same day results? Yes, I heard about the Intro to LE, unfortunately I could only use it as an elective and that section is already completed. After Tech Writing, next on my list is Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Organizational Behavor and Substance Abuse. All will count as upper level credit for me. This is why I would prefer to test at a site that is computerized.

Linda, according to mapquest lincroft is about 32mis/40mins not bad at all. I will give them a call tomorrow. I'm already scheduled for a dantes at tesc this month (pd sitting fee). But I will use brookdale for the remaining exams.

Great! Thank you! Waiting for the grade kills me as I have absolutely no patience. I plan to complete all testing in the next two months so I can concentrate on final courses.

Of three places listed on the site that claim they administer the exams in a city 45 miles away from me, only one actually administered the exams. LOL.
