I have not taken either, this level of math still being so far above my head, so I can't tell you from experience. From the threads in the specific exam feedback section and a quick search, it seems that most members in the know agree that the DSST is easier. Good luck.
I have 18 traditional credits and 51 exam credits. I've passed Introductory Sociology 76, Introductory Psychology 68, A&I Literature 66, Principles of Marketing 76, Introductory Business Law 71, Social Sciences & History 67, DSST Drug & Alcohol Abuse 450, Biology 69, Principles of Management 70, Natural Sciences 64, Intro to Business DSST 70, Principles of Macroeconomics 67, Principles of Microeconomics 58.

I recently scored 60 on the College Algebra CLEP, and this one is very doable. I would think that any source of college algebra exams would be more the same than different though. Here is my lineup since January 2008!

I think the big thing that might make the DSST easier is that fact that you are given 2 hours instead of 1.5 with CLEP. People seem to agree that time is really your enemy on this test. Also, I think the DSST would have 4 possible answers like most of their other tests in comparison to CLEP's 5. Can anyone confirm this? I have to pass one of these as well and am not looking forward to it.

I had marked two questions, and I didn't have time to get back to them. If DSST gives you an extra 1/2 hour, that would definitely be helpful. The College Algebra CLEP is nothing to fear as long as you are comfortable working with polynomials. Here is my lineup since January 2008!
