My father is an ex-college professor. He has a masters and PHD in the collective forms of history (a smart way to say i forgot what it was really called) and when i mentioned this test, he gave me the perfect study helper - The Civil War: A Film By Ken Burns. This is a 9 to 10 hour long series availible at most rental stores on VHS. It is an amazing and perfect way to cycle the events of the Civil War and Reconstruction using great imagery and it follows with the IC material almost perfectly.
You can probably do just fine using IC, but i highly recommend this series. It helped me ^_~

I recieved a 45 ... a little less than 47 a passing score .......
I knew I would have problems with this exam ...
However, I recieved a 75 on Intro to World Religion....
Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union - a 54.....passing score is 45...
Intro to Mid East a 56 - passing score is 47...
I didnt do an adequate review on the Reconstruction section of the exam ...
Its a tough exam with a lot of questions...

Using instantcert supplemented with sparknotes (both civil war and reconstruction books, $5 each) i thought it wasn't a bad exam. I think the sparknotes really help. I went through instantcert four times and sparknotes twice. Also, I used the website
Civil War in America Timeline of Battles to get a concept of a timeline. Also, randomizing the questions on instantcert seem to take away the timeline context to the questions, so i didn't randomize.

The South won, of course.
Really, I would check out Wikipedia for the basics. I have not taken this one, but my brother and I are reenactors and War Between the States buffs. Here are some sites that might be helpful:
CivilWar.com (battles,timelines, documents, etc.)
Civil War Battle Summaries by State
Confederate Generals
The Confederate War Department
Wish you the best!
