I've never heard of being able to do this, but if you're going to use ProctorU anyways than why not Straighterline? While I have strong objections to ProctorU and far prefer CLEP exams, if you're willing to use ProctorU than taking an SL course shouldn't be a problem. They do offer a lot more courses now than before. Well, this is of course assuming that your school accepts credits from SL, that's something you'll have to verify first.

I had just read a thread that said CLEP now requires proctoring of their tests.....And I'm in South Korea for the next 2 years.....So I was worried I wouldn't be able to CLEP....BUT I found out good news today...I can do the CLEP tests at another military base an hour away! I'm so relieved! They are charging 185.00 for CLEP and 80.00 for DSST. Is this the normal rates?

I thought CLEP always required that you take the test at an approved testing center. So, no, you can't use ProctorU. $185 for the CLEP is expensive. The exam is only $80 and most testing centers only charge a $20 test fee at the most. Maybe it's because it's a military base.

$185 for a Clep is absolutely ridiculous. Are one of the Korean universities able to admin? Are you in the military?

I think you may have some bad info Can219. CLEP and DSST have always been proctored at test centers, and Proctor U doesn't work that way.

The $185/$80 fees should only apply to civilians. Both the CLEP and DSST should be free for your first attempt if you are active duty. No idea where you
are in Korea, but there is a test center listed for Camp Casey. Test Center Search | CLEP

You really need to talk to someone at the test center to make sure you aren't paying for nothing.

If you are active duty in the military they should be free. If you're a veteran you have to pay for the exam and sitting fee, but the VA will reimburse you.

I'm sure Can219 will stop by and speak for herself, however in another thread she did say something like DH is an army contractor, so she is not active duty military.
