DSST Business Ethics vs DSST Ethics in America
#1
I have to take both of these. Has anyone else taken both and, if so, which is easier?

I am so close to finishing now - I can almost touch it! :hurray:

Thank you!
Denise

MS - Management and Leadership, WGU 2022
BS - Liberal Arts - Depths in Healthcare and Psychology, Excelsior College 2014
Certificate - Workers Comp Admin, UC Davis Extension, 1995
AA - Licensed Vocational Nursing and Selected Studies, Mesa College 1989
Certificate - Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN), Mesa College 1977

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

I'm bumping this just once. I found out I only need one, so I need to figure out if one is significantly easier than the other.

thanks!

Hi Denise!

I tried to study for Ethics in America, but it wasn't a good match for me. Despite my complete lack of business background, I did much better with the topics and concepts of Business Ethics. I left my feedback here:

I'm so happy to see your progress!

What are you considering for your last exam? I highly recommend any of the CLEP and DSSTs that I took. Also, consider Technical Writing.

I've heard both opinions from people who tried studying for one or the other, so it depends more on your own preferences. I personally really enjoy philosophy and working with ideas, so I chose the Ethics in America test, and it was my favorite test so far (it was seriously fun to take Smile). I've heard that the Business Ethics is more practical/straightforward (check out NAP's post or run a search on Business Ethics), so it really depends on what type of concepts you prefer to study. Sorry, I know that's a little vague. :p
"Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe...." ~Hebrews 12:28

Tests passed:
CLEP Introductory Psychology: 70
CLEP College Composition: 62
DSST Principles of Public Speaking: 73
CLEP College Mathematics: 69
CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature: 78

DSST Environment and Humanity: 61
DSST Ethics in America: 467

Goal: AA from Charter Oak by December 2013

Good feedback - I think I'll look at the practice test and then make a decision. I need to get that out of the way and writing done. Then it doesn't matter what I take as long as it's upper level arts and science.

NAP,

Thanks for the feedback on what you've taken and what you used to study. I'm going to look through that before I decide what to take.

This is an excellent set of videos that I used to study for Ethics in America
Honolulu CC EdTechCenter - YouTube

There are several here that apply to ethics as well.

The Moral Foundations of Politics with Ian Shapiro - YouTube

Finally, take a look at the exam specific thread for Ethics in America. There is a study guide on there that covers much of the information.
