DSST Art of the Western World
#1
Anyone taken the Art of the Western World DSST exam yet? Any tips?

I am one nursing class away from getting my BSN and am not able to take it until I finish the last of my undergraduate courses. Unfortunately, back in Oct. I took the CLEP Humanities exam and scored a 48 on it. If I had passed I would have tested out of a humanities and fine art class and saved over $2000 in tuition. I understand that I can't repeat the exam until 3 months from now so I was not able to take my last nursing class and now will have to wait for January. My thoughts are to take the DSST Art of the Western World and hopefully test out of this class for fine arts and only have to worry about taking Humanities in Jan. There are no other tests that my school will allow me to take to finish off the Humanities course. I am really dreading to have to take the CLEP Humanities test again. I've read some of the threads and know that some people find it easy but for me it was not or either I did not take enough time studying.

Any suggestions?

I did take the DSST Introduction to Computer and passed with a 427!

study.com has an Intro to the Humanities course for $199 (college accelerator subscription for a month). Not sure if your school will accept that course, but it is ACE-approved. If you can't use the course, you might want to pay the $99 for a month of the premium edition, and use it to study for the exam. If I was in your shoes, I would definitely pay the money to do this and try to pass - you are so close you can probably taste it, and I'd be willing to sell plasma to get the money to pay for it!! :ack:

Hope that helps!

Sophia has Intro to Art History, it's ACE-approved AND ACP-approved (Alternative Credit Project). If you worry about not passing that course as well, this would be another (more expensive) option. I have absolutely NO background in humanities (I have always loved math & science), I would have trouble passing that exam as well.
