After welcoming a testing candidate today only to discover he was active-duty military, I thought it might be a good idea to remind all you active-duty military members that you qualify to test at ANY test center without paying for the test fee ($77 for CLEP, $80 for DSST). Off-base test centers can establish their own policy on whether to collect an admin fee from you, but there are some (like our test center) who even waive the admin fee for active-duty. Those who are not active-duty but eligible for DANTES-funded exams can also test off-base without being charged the exam fees. You will be charged the admin fee, but that is still a great deal!
If you are ready to test and there are no openings on base, check around with your local testing centers as they make a great option when you are caught in a time crunch.
