Quick degree advice
#1
First of all, this site is a great resource. I'm grateful for the wealth of information.

Question:
Which route should I take to receive the quickest Bachelor degree?

Background:
Applied to TESC and Excelsior. Transcripts were sent only a few days ago, so nothing has been evaluated yet. I have 122 credits from 3 accredited colleges, but no degree. 98 credits came from an attempt to get an AAS in IT. I've been an IT pro since 1993 and currently serve as CEO of my own IT security consulting company, albeit small company. I'm considering an opportunity that requires a formal BS minimum. This is a hard requirement. HR would like to modify the job and repost it to fit ANY degree with the hope that I can "check the box" faster and easier. I applied to EC in liberal arts thinking that might make the path shorter. I applied at TESC in IT. Honestly I don't know which school/BS would be quicker. Does it make any sense trying to determine that now? Or should I wait until both have evaluated my transcripts?

I don't exactly care which field the degree is in. I don't know if how much I should be leveraging my IT experience. I have goals of continuing on to a Masters. But a BS is my short term.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hurry up and wait because it will take some time for TESC to evaluate your transcripts and provide an evaluation.
Once they do, you will be able to use their website to do "what if" scenarios on your degree so you can see for yourself how far or close you are to some of their bachelors degrees.
Exelsior may be the faster route. Even with 122 credits, you may still need some more classes to satisfy a degree. I have 181 credits but am 13 credits shy of a computer science degree and 21 credits shy of a humanities degree.

It is going to take weeks to get the evaluation, months to graduate etc. If you need it fast, I would get on the phone with both schools and see if you can throw some money at them. If you pay TESC its 2K enrollment fee they might process you faster. The same might be true of Exelsior.

TESC has a BSAST IT, a BA Comp Sci and a BSBA Comp Info Sys btw.
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU
Enrolled at NCU in the PhD Applied Computer Science

How come you are looking at the IT program at TESC and the liberal arts program at Excelsior? Like Ryoder said, all you can do is wait and see which school will give you what. TESC has a liberal studies program and does not require a capstone. TESC is also more liberal when it comes to accepting lower level courses as upper level and requires less upper level credits overall. Also like Ryoder said, you can do "what if" scenarios with TESC's Online Student Services. You might have enough credits to complete or be close to completing several different degree programs. I don't know how often Excelsior confers degrees, but TESC only does conferrals every 3 months and you have to have your application in 2 months before the graduation date. I don't know if that would be an issue for you. I finished all of my requirements in August, but I won't graduate until December.

I may end up calling TESC today or tomorrow to see if they can speed things up a bit for me as well.
@jtalama Excelsior just added a Cyber Security degree to their Technology catalog. It was also mentioned in this recent thread:

It's been about 17 years since I obtained IT-related credits. I do have *some* within the last year or so, but they're very few (around 6?). If I'm not mistaken, there's a 10-year limit on the transfer of IT-related credits. I understand a person could petition the old IT credits but not without a cost per credit. So, that's my reason for looking into a Liberal Arts program. I read on another forum that might be a good way to get the job done.
