Hello,
I've contacted Charter Oak and Excelsior to ask how many point you'd get for if you have a pilot licenses and they gave me below credit that could be used for any elective:
Charter Oak:
- Private Pilot, initial certification (6 credits, lower division level)
- Private Pilot, each additional category rating (airplane, rotorcraft, glider, balloon, etc.); (3 credits, lower division level)
Excelsior:
You will need to request a FAA official college credit letter. Please see the instructions below:
1. Student's will write to the following address and request the FAA to submit an official "college credit" letter to document their certificates:
FAA AFS-760
Airman Certification Branch
PO Box 25082
Oklahoma City, OK 73125
2. The FAA will send the Records Office an official "college credit" letter on FAA letterhead.
3. Records Office staff will verify the authenticity of the document and contact the Branch Manager if there are any questions.
Excelsior College students who hold Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman Fixed Wing Certificates can receive credit for them as indicated in the table below.
This also applies to certificates issued by the predecessor agency, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).
The credits will be applied to the free elective category of any degree.
Semester Hours of Credit for Airman (pilot) Certificate
Credits/Applied Professional
Commercial 6 lower level
Instrument 6 lower level
Flight Instructor 2 lower level
Multiengine 2 lower level
Private 4 lower level
Now I wonder what TESU would give and what I wonder even more if certificate give more credits in one school compared with another?
Is there is a difference, then which is the school of the Big 3 give credits the easiest ?
