You are right. If and or when I get to upper level math I will be sure to come to you with utmost humility for having predicting the ruin that using Aleks has brought to my previously meteoric rise in academia. I still don't know if I would categorize that as hilarious. I concede it might be a little funny if the use of this study method were to somehow prevent me from learning something I haven't yet started at some future (undetermined) date. Perhaps that would better be described as ironic.
I agree though, it is really stupid to look for the tool that works best for you to meet your objective, and use that tool to your own advantage.

Well, judging by the lack of sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation... I'm going to eliminate "D". Sharks with lasers would work in the moat in front of my proposed Mexican Border Wall, but probably wouldn't have the last laugh. 27th Amendment.... since when do writers laugh? James Bond always gets the last laugh, so I think this is a trick question.
And so, with utmost mathematical certainty, taking into account the phases of the moon, the Coriolis effect, the price of tea in China, and several other classified factors..... The answer is "E"

I've been "lurking" around this thread, as I am intrigued by the possibility of using ALEKS for satisfying my Pre-Calculus and/or Statistics requirement at TESC.
From what I've been able to tell so far from reading the posts, zefrench was successful in getting three credits after completing an ALEKS course, right?
My question, then, is does anyone know if TESC accepts these ALEKS courses? I haven't even applied to TESC yet (which I need to do soon; not planning on enrolling until next year)... so I don't have access to an advisor.

Since the ALEKS courses are ACE-approved, there is a good chance that TESC will grant credits for them. Even if they don't, it seems like ALEKS is excellent prep for the CLEP exam, and very reasonably priced. This is just based on what I've read here, as I have no personal experience with the program.

One important clarification, not all courses are ACE approved, the list in the first post is accurate.
