Credit for ALEKS Corp (McGraw Hill) Online courses in College Algebra & Statistics
Bellevue University will accept these courses.

Just an FYI for anyone who may be interested in transfering to Bellevue for a degree program of some kind.
Thanks again, okiemom.

Which were you speaking of, Bellevue will accept credit from FEMA, ALEKS or Straighterline? Can you tell me more about this school, any advantages or disadvantages. My son is considering going there for the video game degree.
After being forced to do an assessment today in Intermediate Algebra, a course i have been working on for about 13 days, I received 72 percent.

I now have logged just under 36 hours, and have completed beginning and intermediate algebra.

I am going to try Triginometry next as it is only 119 pie sections, and 54 of which are algebra review.

After that, it is Business stats and then I am done with Aleks, and off to EC the credits go.

Does anyone know if EC will award more than three pre calculus courses for their business degrees?

I have heard that one stats course, and 3 college algebra/pre-cal courses is the most that can be had with EC business programs, and that includes free electives.
Hello All.

I just signed up for ALEKS last night and I still loathe Algebra!!!Big Grin I signed up for the Beginning Algebra course. I am approximately 8 hours in with 100/262 topics covered. And just to prove how "suckface" I am at Algebra, I scored a 25% on my 1st assessment and a 33% on my 2nd assessment!!!

The funny part is...I love ALEKS but I still hate Algebra!!! I was planning on doing Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra (w/o trig) and Introduction to Statistics for Excelsior College. This is gonna be complete and utter hell for me!!!!!!

Somebody pray for me....and hard!!!!!!!

Chat with ya later.

Dude,
I feel your pain. I am planning to sign up with ALEKS to do exactly the same courses you are beginning next Monday. I have to take me son to Milwaukee this weekend and plan to "hit" the Algebra after that. Oh, and I'll beat I can bet your "suckface" score. And by beat, I mean do significantly worse! Big Grin

Good luck though, Buddy. You will do terrific. You always do because you are positive, resourceful, and a hard worker. Dude, you're my hero. The proverbial "wind beneath my wings". Oh, I think I just made myself a little sick. Better go now!!! hilarious

Update. I just tried to find out if I could get Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences for my degree in Liberal Studies and I was told no. That it would Duplicate Principles of Statistics. Just an Update. Maybe it will go better if you send them all at the same time. Its ok though. I will probably spend less time preparing for a CLEP then I will finishing Stats for Behavioral Sciences.

Edit: Oh and that concludes my ALEKS requirement. Tough courses. I think they will help along way going to when I take the GRE or GMAT
Cool

Send them both in, I don't trust what you were told, especially since we have precedent here of those courses being TESC evaluated. Those are entirely different numbers and entirely different levels- behavior coming in at 100 level and intro at a 200 level- whoever you spoke to is probably wrong.

Now, ALEKS is new, so maybe they are working out the kinks....but my experience with TESC's fine advising department (save Dr. Gary Keel or Todd Siben) is telling me that you'll end up with 6 credits out of the deal.

Yes. As soon as your ALEKS course is listed in ACE as 'APPROVED' it's done. If it's already gone to the next step and been added to your ACE transcript then your work is done Smile
