Hello all!
I'm leaning towards a degree in Criminal Justice at TESU. One of the required courses in the area of study is Criminology. Criminology is also on the list for information literacy in general education. If I take the course, would it satisfy both, or would I need to find another course to satisfy information literacy?
TESU blog says:
You have more options for general education electives than you think.
Your general education courses are designed to provide you with a working knowledge of multiple subjects. As of July 2015, these entry-level courses are organized into four main categories: Intellectual and Practical Skills, Civic and Global Leadership, Knowledge of Human Cultures, and Understanding of the Physical and Natural World. These courses can be used to satisfy requirements for more than one area, and can be tailored to your own needs and interests.
But I don't know if they are just talking about general education or not. Again, the criminology course is needed to satisfy the area of study so I don't know if it's different.

Some schools like Charter Oak will let you double dip credits to meet requirements. TESU does not. If a course fills a Gen Ed requirement, then you have to use a different course for the AOS and vice versa.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Excelsior will also let you double dip. I would just take A&I Lit for the six credits in one go in order to fulfill the Info Lit requirement.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

You always want to use courses to fill your AOS/core first, and then use other courses to do the Gen Ed requirements, because those are so much easier to find and cheaper.
No double-dipping at TESU, but the upside is that they require a lot fewer UL credits than EC & COSC.

Another quick question. Saylor's ENVS203: Environmental Ethics, Justice, and World Views - Does anyone know if that transfers as ETH-210: Environmental Ethics, or as ENS-360: Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice (or nothing at all).
(I'm doubling down on making a spreadsheet today and that's why I have these questions. I didn't really want to make a new thread for my little question)
Thanks again!

Saylor's ENVS203 course transfers in as ETH-210: Environmental Ethics.

Your question is answered at the following link (found it by Google-ing TESU Saylor):

This counts as your Ethics requirement, or Gen Ed if you don't need Ethics.
