Counting SL Bus Admin Courses as Gen Edu at TESC BA Lib Studies or BA Communications
#1
Is it possible to count SL Business Admin courses as part of the 18 Gen Edu at TESC BA Liberal Studies or BA Communications?

Also interested in whether the SL Human Services courses per http://degreeplanners.com/media/TESC_Equivalencies.pdf count for Gen Edu in the degree programs.

Thank you!

General education courses have to be in social science, natural science/mathematics (this is confusing because computer courses also count), and humanities. The only business-related courses I can think of that fall into those categories are statistics, organizational behavior, microeconomics, macroeconomics, management information systems, and business communication.

TESC should really consider just listing Intro to CJ, Intro to LE, and Fundamentals of Counseling under social science because that's where they'll land. Even the advisors get confused. By the way, always get a second opinion. An advisor told me Fundamentals of Counseling was not a social science because it was listed under human services, so I called back and talked to a more experienced advisor who said it was. She was right; it was counted as an upper-level psychology course and transcribed in my major area of study which was social science. I took Intro to CJ and Intro to LE as college courses, but they're transcribed the same as Straighterline and the tests. Both of those were counted as social sciences for me.

JME-
I don't know what the SL bus admin courses are so can't help you there. But can answer question put forth by Inteljustice2 (maybe it will answer part of your question?)

Bus Comm -- YES COM300 - Humanities

Intro to Bus -- NO = BUS101 - business course or free elective

Bus Stat. -- Possible = OPM351 - considered natural science and management (depends on program)

Managerial Acct. -- NO = ACC303 - business course or free elective

Anatomy and Physiology I and II -- YES = BIO211/212- natural science

also,

Maco/Microeconics -- YES = ECO111/112 - considered social science and business
