Hi Everyone! I'm in need of some TESC graduation advice! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If I don't fall off the wagon, by December 20th, I'll have 120 credits! Unfortunately I didn't enroll in time for December graduation. So I will officially graduate in March and wait like 4 to 6 weeks for the Diploma. I'm leaving for South East Asia in October. I was hoping to teach english there. Unfortunately most english teaching positions require a B.A, which I will only "technically have". Does TESC have any solutions for this issue? Can they send a letter/transcript? Has anyone had this problem? How did you deal with it?
Thanks for taking the time!

The March deadline for the graduation application is January. I think they certify your degree a couple of weeks after that and you will receive a letter from the college stating that you will graduate in March.
I graduate in September but applied before the July deadline. By mid-July I had a letter from the school which I was able to use for job applications.

You will get a letter when your requirements are met and you're cleared for graduation. TESC is like any other college- imagine you're a senior and you're in your last semester hitting the job fairs- you're applying as a candidate WITH a bachelor's degree even though it won't be in your hand at the job fair.

The day you graduate, your transcript will show degree awarded and third parties will be able to verify your degree. As you said, the diploma will come in about 4-6 weeks, but that's for your ego more than anything. Until your graduation date though, you won't "technically have" your degree, although you can freely say that your degree will be awarded in March.

I needed my degree approval before the end of June I was in the September graduation but finished all of my credits by June 15. I was able to call TESC explain my problem they evaluated my credits and sent me an official letter by the end of June.

First, this depends on what the laws and regulations are in the specific country you plan to teach in. Although it may be correct in stating that you have earned a degree before physically receiving your diploma, it really does not matter. Believe it or not, the physical diploma itself is often used to verify an earned degree in much of the world.
The letter that TESC sends stating you are scheduled to have a degree conferred is fine for a job in the States, however this is not the case for teaching abroad (in most countries at least). Many countries require that foreign teachers have their diploma notarized and apostilled (among other things), without any room for negotiation. Depending on the location and teaching institution you could try a notarized letter from TESC, but I am not sure a state would apostille a letter (typically they only do this for diplomas).
