Hey guys, I am planning on taking the Principles of Supervision DSST within 2 weeks hopefully...
What are your recommendations for study guides that have been helpful to you in passing this test?
Also, what is the difficulty level of this test?
This will be my first DSST test, so any other helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Celeste

All I used for this DSST was the DSST study guide printed by the guys at
DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com. It entailed about 3-5 pages of general knowledge and about 70 multiple choice questions in that book. If InstaCert has flashcards I highly reccommend those.

All you need is InstantCert for this one. This test and Principles of Management have a lot of overlap. If you pass one, you should pass the other. I took it cold and was able to pass it. That's how difficult it was. I don't recommend doing that though.

This is basically what we did after taking CLEP Management.
We studied the Peterson's tests, paying special attention to the explanations of each question. One of my students said, "Test yourself silly". Study and memorize the feedback from the InstantCert forum. Take the official practice test and when you are scoring in the 60's you should be good to go. This test was updated this summer and we took the new version. Pay special attention to the details. Another student said, "They hound you on the details".
Passed:
American Gov, US History 1, US History 2, Computing, Info Systems, Humanities, Sociology, Art, Western Civ I, Western Civ II, Social Sciences and History, Civil War, Business, Vietnam, A&I Lit, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, American Lit, English Lit, Astronomy, Supervision, 1 FEMA, Total -79

I wouldn't worry too much about it being a DSST versus CLEP...nor about the pass rates. Be sure to go to the Specific Exam Feedback Section where you'll find tons of feedback and advice from all those that have taken this test (must be member of IC). Good Luck!

This is the next test I plan to take (I hope before Christmas break). According to the poster of the following thread, IC is no help in passing this one:

What about anyone else? Did you feel IC was helpful when studying for Principles of Supervision? I know this exam was refreshed sometime during 2008-2009...have the IC cards been updated?
Edit: I just checked the Specific Exam section, and it seems that the IC cards have NOT been updated for the refreshed version.
