College Student Stunned by Professor’s ‘Ridiculous’ Cheating Accusation!
#1
Shocked
College student stunned by professor’s ‘ridiculous’ cheating accusation: ‘Creating your own study material isn’t cheating!!!

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/college-...13660.html

Was the accusation justified or was the professor lazy?

100% lazy professor. Even if you didn't assume the professor was going to reuse the questions, who on earth wouldn't at least use those past questions as a guide for your studying?

I don't know how it could be justified. The student didn't cheat. They studied the previous quizzes. Some professors are super lazy and reuse the same quizzes and exams every single year. Who doesn't study their past quizzes for an exam? Seems like common sense to me.

LOL, interesting professor to say the least... I mean, the article doesn't mention it, but what if the student also read the chapter summaries, made their own notes of concepts they don't understand, and in addition to reviewing past quizzes, did a quizlet of their own for memory retention, there are so many other ideas that students have at their disposal to help retain class content easier. I really agree with creating your own study content isn't cheating, people use it to recall info better.

I think it was kind of silly for the student to turn in the test after only ten minutes. I definitely wouldn't have done that! I don't think they were cheating, though.

I once got marked as cheating with 0 points in the peer review at UoPeople, because after submitting my homework, I also uploaded it scribd. Therefore, my peer-reviewer found a 100% coincidence rate with my own paper.

I want to know the rest of the story. The article seems to end in the middle.

So, what happened afterwards? The suspense of knowing the end result is killing me! Haha, oh, and how dare you 'cheat' by uploading to scribd! Just kidding, anyways, I know scribd is used for social read sharing of information, I think of it as a "document or pdf" alternative version of Quizlet.

I wrote the Instructor about it, and let him notice that the name of the scribd user, was my name plus the initial letters of my both last names. And that in order to show him that I was the owner of the account, I could delete the file, the moment he told me to.

So he changed my grade.
