Hi i am new to instacert...first post..but anyway i was just wondering if i could test at different locations besides military installations...the reason i ask this question is that it is hard to only make it to one time on one day a week any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe this isn't an issue. I took mine at University of Pheonix and one of the starting questions was about seeking reimbursement through the military. You should be able to take it anywhere, but I would ask the individual facility.

The first question I get asked is whether any students can take the CLEP exams at our test center or if they have to be one of our students. I have seen that some locations do limit a candidate to only one exam per day. We do not put a limit here -- I have had someone take 3 in one day.

If you happen to live in an area that has an assortment of test centers -- large, small, busy, slow -- you can certainly "shop around" at the different test centers to fit in as many exams as possible. You will probably run into a variety of admin fee prices, too.

The test is 77 or 79 and the fee I paid was 20 an exam, which seems to be pretty standard.

In our general area, admin fees range from $0-$50 per exam. It is always a good idea to ask the test center as this can add up over time. I have also heard of some test centers that charge a different admin fee depending on whether you are a student at their university of not. You will also want to know if they only test certain days of the week and at certain times, or are they flexible and open by appointment.
