Cheapest Route to WGU Business Bachelors Degree
#1
I just put this together based on my son's current plan - I switched a few courses he took at SL to Saylor because it's cheaper if you are willing to put up with Saylor - he only made it through 9 credits with them. Anyway, thought this might help someone. This is for the HR Management Business Degree, so 4 or 5 courses will be different for another business degree - most of the differences would be in the courses actually taken at WGU, though, so the preparation plans are not much different.

WGU Business Degree – HR Management Concentration Degree Plan

Saylor $275
Intro to Business
Marketing Fundamentals
Business Communication
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Comparative Politics (meets geography requirement)
College Algebra
Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Statistics
Business Law/Ethics
Accounting

Straighterline $700 - $900 depending on time taken and coupons used
Intro Religion or Philosophy (Humanities requirement)
English Composition 1
English Composition 2
Business Statistics
Principles of Management
Intro to Communication
Business Ethics
Organizational Behavior
Managerial Accounting
Psychology

Study.com $398
HR Management
Principles of Finance
Global Business
Project Management

WGU $3,000 if completed in one term
Integrated Natural Science Applications (task based assessments)
Critical Thinking and Logic (exam based)
Information Systems Management (exam based)
Spreadsheets (exam based)
Change Management (exam + task based)
Employment Law (exam based)
Workforce Planning (exam + task based)
Training and Development (exam + task based)
Compensation and Benefits (exam + task based)
Cases in Advanced IT Management (task based assessments)
Capstone
Portfolio Project

Cool, thanks for that.

A few more courses you can take:

For science, you can take almost anything: DSST, SL, CLEP - not sure if they require a lab or not

CSU-Global has Employment Law

CSU-Global has Critical Reasoning
Propero has Critical Thinking (ACP)

DSST has MIS exam
Ed4Credit has Managing Information Systems (ACP)

CSU-Global has Org Innovation & Change

Penn Foster has Training Concepts

Penn Foster has Employee Benefits
Penn Foster has Compensation Management

Not that you would want to take all of them, as they're all $250-$300 apiece - but if you thought you might need 1-2 more courses in order to get through the WGU term more quickly, this might help someone.

Good luck to your son!

Quick note regarding WGU's science requirements - they require a 3 credit science and also a 4 credit science/lab combo, OR an associates degree will clear both those requirements whether you took the courses or not. The science/lab combo can be taken at Straighterline and I'm sure other places, but I didn't include it because of the cost, and because from all I've read, if someone works pretty hard at it, they can complete the 4 credit science applications course in a week.

Did anyone save the transfer guidelines documents from WGU. They are now password protected. Some of them still are in Google cache.

Edit: The WVNCC AAS BOG degree (mentioned in another thread) may be a good route to get around the science lab if the OP in that thread succeeds in graduating with zero residency credits.
