yeah, but if someone paid for 60 credits to transfer in and 30 credits of exam then the degree isn't really $2,250

When we discuss the costs of degrees on this forum, it's generally the COST TO COMPLETE YOUR DEGREE.  If you are someone that has credits already, the fact that you already paid for them is a moot point - it's a sunk cost.  We are generally looking for each individual's future costs, not what they've already paid.

But it's not just $2250. You have to those other 90 credits already. If they're RA credit or community college credit (wouldn't those be RA?), you've probably already paid out a significant amount of $$$. I think the key word in the above is COULD. This degree COULD be cheaper than the Big 3, WGU, or UMPI. It's also just a plain ole general studies degree. Most people on here have an area on which they focus view a major, minor, specialization, whatever the school labels it.

Yes, you're right - it's COULD, which I said, because for some people this COULD be an inexpensive option that would work for them.  Over the years, many many people have come here and said "what's the very cheapest option for me to get a degree as quickly as possible, here's what I already have, and ANY degree will work." This is very common.  And this degree could be a great option for those kinds of people.

All costs are part of the completion of a degree though. Past money spent doesn't just disappear. It's still apart of how much your degree cost you. The $2.250 above would be an additional cost. That's also assuming that one only has 30 credits to complete which usually is not the case as we have seen from numerous people on here transfer to various colleges.

It does not matter what you already paid.  If you want to compute that into your total costs you've paid, you can - but it's completely irrelevant to the future costs to complete your degree.  Because you are starting from the same place for every school when you come here - with stuff you've already paid for, and then figuring out what's left.  So you would add the prior costs to EVERY degree plan you're looking at, which is silly.  The amount left is what you want to look at.

And no, anything you've paid doesn't disappear, I didn't say that it did.  But you also shouldn't say that it cost you $123k to get a degree at UMPI, if you spent $120k at Harvard, dropped out, and then came in, took Sophia courses, and finished at UMPI in 2 terms for $2800.  That's not a true representation of what your degree at UMPI cost.
