I came across this link... it seems that there are going to be 10 cheaper 2-hour ECE exams starting July 11th... at $95 an exam it's about the same cost as a DSST/CLEP and some are upper levels.

What am I missing? This seems too good to be true?

Do the Pearson Centers charge a testing fee because the CLEP fee plus the testing center fee is usually $92 where I'm at. Either way, this is great! I haven't found any other way to satisfy the experimental psychology requirement other than taking a traditional course or taking an ECE. This is a savings of $155! Excelsior can probably afford these cuts after jacking up their tuition and fees.

Did they mean the testing time will go frm 3 hrs to 2 or that it will go from 3 CREDIT hours to 2?

This is good news, and I bet the reduction in cost will convince more people to take ECE exams. From a business stand point it makes sense, especially with new lower cost credit options such as Straighterline popping up.
Also I wonder if Excelsior's partnership with Pearons Vue producing the lower cost UExcel exams ( and the success they have been) might have opened their eyes to cost being an option in people taking an exam and the fact that Excelsior is missing out making some good money.

Wow, this is great to hear! I read this before and didn't fully understand what tests are cheaper.
Great to hear I can now knock out 9 UL credits for about $300, instead of the $1000 I was looking at previously.

Wow this is really great news. I paid $250 for my one ECE and would have definitely considered doing more of them if they weren't two and a half times what I paid for my CLEP/DSSTs. In fact the only reason I even did one was because I needed one more UL business class.
Too late for me to benefit from this, but DH and DS are studying so it will definitely help the family finances!
