CCAF and ACE-recommended credit (TEEX/ALEKS) for Tech Core/Elective NOT for GenEd...
#1
Just thought I would toss this up for everyone to ponder while I await the final words from CCAF as I apparently created a storm up there.

CCAF' accreditation requires a Master's level instructor for all GenEd courses, but the Tech Core & Tech Elective is specifically exempted due to the nature of most AF tech schools (AS-level instructors at most, some still in the process of getting said AS). So, according to the email and phone conversations my education center has been having with them, they are reviewing/revising (the word used keeps swapping) internal policies on if they'll accept ACE-recommended credits for those. It's going to be a moot point for me, as my time remaining is too short for me to risk it (using ALEKS to brush up for the CLEP's), but for anyone else who finds themselves a few credits short on the technical side, it could be useful. I'll keep everyone updated on what comes down.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

It's not you causing it. As always, CMSAF has an idea and wiggles the rope a bit and everybody goes into a tizzy, because his idea doesn't necessarily comply w/ accreditation requirements. But creative solutions may present themselves. Smile

Update:

No news. There will be no news. They stopped the review after changing/finalizing policy regarding eligibility for CCAF degrees when career fields merge. As I am no longer eligible for the degree they were reviewing for, they are no longer reviewing it at all. Hopefully someone else applies for it, I'm trying talk one of my buddies into knocking out the TEEX so we can at least get a definitive yay/nay on the most likely to be accepted ACE credits.

Sorry folks, I tried.
