I graduated from the Georgia Corrections Academy as a corrections officer in 2006. The program which I graduated from was evaluated by Excelsior College in 2003, and was given credit values for the different courses offered by the Academy (described here )
I just received an email from a faculty member at Charter Oak who informed me that it is the policy at Charter Oak to accept the credit recommendations made by Excelsior College site visits.
She stated "While we normally don't accept most other colleges' review recommendations, we would definitely accept the results of the Excelsior reviews. That is a policy we have had for some time. There would be no problem putting that credit on your Charter Oak transcript at the time of your admissions transcript evaluation, and there is no charge other than the $75 college application fee."
Between this, and the fact that Charter Oak accepts FEMA EMI credits, I'm 15 credits closer to my goal!
Thought this information would be useful to pass on
