Has anyone taken any online LSU courses and have any feedback? I'm thinking about taking some of there accounting courses and eventually transfer the credit to TESC.
They seem cheaper than TESC-any suggestions or feedback?

Never taken the LSU option, here are a few more choices, Uof Idaho and U of Arkansas are both cheaper then LSU, CSU-Pueblo and BYU offer more UL than the others. All are self paced options.

When you say all are self paced options, does that mean you can complete the course as quickly as you can/want? Similar to Straighterline?

Essentially yes in most cases....though there may be instances where they will not release grades for a minimal number of weeks (BYU states 4 weeks, CSU states 12, U of Idaho states 8)

Of course the rules are fluid and you need to complete your own due diligence....

Very interesting. Could be an easier way to pick up psych. courses if you're nervous about testing.

It's one of the most prolific subjects, especially at U of Idaho and CSU-P.

I am also taking the TESC program in Accounting and if you are looking for ways to save on accounting courses this is what I would personally suggest:

Straighterline offers the following equivalent TESC classes:

Intro to Accounting
Managerial Accounting
Cost Accounting
Intermediate Accounting I

So, take these 4 classes at only $49 a class + textbooks, and that basically leaves Intermediate II, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing and Income Tax to go for the degree (all of which are available at LSU for only $500 a class).

I took Intro to Acct with LSU a few years ago and the exams were pretty similar in format and difficulty to the assignments- 30-40 multiple choice, a few problems. Fairly standard stuff for any business course IMO.

Back then you had to arrange for a proctor for every test which was time comsuming with 2-3 exams but now I see they have several online courses with Proctor U which if you studies with straighterline you know this is very convenient.

Me personally, for my circumstance, I am going to take the online Intermediate #2, Auditing and Accounting Information Systems with LSU and then take the Income Tax with TESC and be done with it!

Accounting seems like one of those subjects you shouldn't be trying to breeze through (unless you are already one and just need the credits). You can fake a lot of subjects and get a degree and figure things out at a job, but it seems like if you breeze through accounting, it's going to be very noticeable to your employer.

You might want to take a look at classes from Penn Foster....I think they are only about $275 and they include the textbooks. And I'm pretty sure you have 3 months to complete the course. Try doing a search on the forum. You have to make sure they are ACE approved though.
