I plan to do a challenge exam from Athabasca
University worth 3 credits. Has any one received
Credit at Excelsior for Canadian courses? I imagine
that a Canadian 3 credit course would be the equivalent
as a US course. I plan to take a course in Global studies

Athabasca is Regionally Accredited in the US, so if they give you course credit by exam, I'd imagine that Excelsior would take it, just like they would from Ohio University.

Athabasca doesn't accept credit by exam, they only have portfolio assessment. However courses at athabasca are great, if a little expensive. They also directly accept transcripts, because of their accreditation, and transcripts from athabasca are free! They have literally tons of courses to fill gaps in many degree programs

Yes they do take Athabasca for credit. I had a couple of classes that I took that counted toward my degree and included required classes. They will also show up if you do a search on Excelsior's website for acceptable alternatives.

now...hang on a second. Athabasca has Challenge for Credit. It's quite different from testing out. You have to provide quite a bit of coursework that might be comparable to doing a course. Also, the cost is the same if not close to the cost of the course
