So i am pretty good at math i think and was wondering how does the ALEKS courses work? I think they have the pre test before one can even start with the course , What if i can pass the Pre Test with passing score ? Would i still have to take the entire course and then the Final exam ?
I am doing the TESU BSBA GM course and was also wondering which Math 3 courses should i get from ALEKS.
Thanks for the help .

You can pass the initial assessment (pre test) and submit for credit. No need to do anything else. It can be very quick if you know the material.

Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Trig or PreCalc. Both if you have space for Gen Ed electives and want something cheap, and don't mind math. You don't need three, but the credits are so cheap.

You can do one of the Stats courses as well as the other listed.

Stats at ALEKS is pretty hard, but ALEKS is so cheap. Remember that their current ACE status expires on June 30th.

I wouldn't waste my time on STATS with ALEKS, I would just go get the 3 courses (Intermediate, College Algebra and Precalc).
If precalc is not your flavor, go for trigonometry, as they will be duplicate credits at TESU, beginning algebra won't be accepted.

There is not a pre-test, but rather just an initial assessment (and they may have changed the name with their new upgrade). If you pass it with a 70% or higher, then you can send it to your ACE account, and then start on the next course. There is no "final exam" for ALEKS courses. Whenever you can pass an assessment with 70%+, you can be done.

Stats was not too difficult once I found the John Wood videos. It was more just time-consuming. I'd at least try the course since they are basically free credits if you do the other three courses.

I agree, I found Aleks Stats to be very time consuming. Aleks logged me in for 30 hours, way more than I had planned to spend. BUT, I did it over two months in bits and pieces, so it took longer (because I forgot what I had done at the last session, and had to do it again).
Also, I didn't figure out how to use the Aleks calculator right away, and I did a lot of calculations by hand - it would have been MUCH faster using ALEKs calculator. Also, not knowing what the stat symbols meant took me longer to understand the explanations. I finally printed out a chart of all the symbols, and was able to refer to the chart - made life much easier for me.
But the main thing that - finally - helped me pass the assessment was that I printed out the answers. If you're good at math, you don't have to print out each scenario, just the basic, and even if they change the numbers or the scenario, you can still figure out the answer by referring to a similar answer to another question. Alot of stats is calculations, so I found it easier to refer to the paper, I wasn't quite remembering the formulas by heart. Another large part of stats is learning how to use the Aleks calculator - it really does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
