I am currently attempting to get a degree done ASAP through TESC. I have narrowed it down to Psychology or history. I need 12 general elective credits.
, I am thinking about cleps for humanities and natural sciences, as they are both 6 credit tests, therefore I only have to prepare for 2 tests instead of 4

I need 18 UL history classes. I am going to take the TESC class War and American history (not exact sure of name right now) as it is 6 credits, and I need a GPA through them anyway. I will be taking DSST's for Rise and fall of the Soviet Union, History of Vietnam, and Modern Middle east. I plan on also taking the ECE for world conflicts since 1900. This will cover the 18 UL credit requirement. However, I believe, using these tests for the UL requirement means I can not use any of them for my non western history requirement (3 credits). This is a bit of an issue, and unless I can find a suitable test, I will also have to take a class through TESC to cover this requirement.

Free electives will be covered by ASE (automotive) certifications, NJ Emergency Medical Technician certification, and FEMA credit to fill in any more needed.

Please make any suggestions or critiques that you have. Thanks for helping me out!

jkeegan,
I just completed BA in History at TESC - DSST Modern Middle East covers the non-western history requirement & is Upper Level as you already know - Take DSST Civil War & Reconstruction to fill out the final 6 lower level requirements - You have it covered then with ECE World Conflicts, Soviet Union, Vietnam and TESC War&Amer Society, plus the Cleps.
Heads Up: The advisor (Siben) told me ECE World Conflicts and TESC War&AMer Society conflicted, however, I knew that Elinor had just graduated in Sept with the same tests, so I called and talked to another advisor and she approved me to take the ECE World Conflicts test. Let me assure you; the ECE test does not cover the same material, it is totally focused toward International Relations, the TESC course is not.
Good luck.

Hey thanks for the response. The lower level credits are filled from western civ classes I transfered in. If I use the modern middle east for an upper level class, does it still count as non western? I would think that if it was applied to non western, I would have to come up with another upper level class? I am confused lol.

I'm an Excelsior student so TESC's UL/LL designation on many of the History tests seems to be different.
BA Liberal Arts in 2014 from Excelsior College. (Took 25 tests)
Certificate in Writing in 2018 from University of Washington.
Current: MA in Psychology from American Public University.
Have 180 hour TEFL/TESOL Advanced Cert from TEFL HERO.
Member of World Genius Directory. IQ 148 SD 15/IQ 151 SD 16.

jkeegan,
It doesn't matter where the courses/tests are applied - an upper level is upper level - so Modern Middle East is both Upper Level and applicable to the non-western requirement - at least, that's what it was for me.
You can check my completed degree plan at the subhead: How to spell relief - G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! that plan looks good. After doing some research and reading last night I discovered that it is possible for me to also test out of the social science BA. I have to decide which dsst's and cleps I want to take, which will determine which degree I pursue. I registered in War and American society today, (starts in Jan) so that will be both 6 credits, and my GPA requirement. I may seem more flexible than most with which degree I will pursue, but that is just because I need to have ANY 4 year degree done by the summer so that I can take the police exam for the municipality that I currently work for, to hopefully secure a full time position. Thanks for all the help everyone!
