Can I use credits from my existing bachelor's degree at the Big 3?

I guess my main problem right now is that I'm still figuring out what all the options are, and which are most applicable to my situation. There is a lot of information to sift through.

If you'd like a brand-name parchment to hang on your wall, the University of Alabama has some very nicely priced Masters degrees in a few subjects including a general studies-type degree and an MA in Management. If you want the "thrill" of testing out a second degree in like a month, definitely go for a BSBA at TESC but if it's a lifelong learning kind of thing I think you might as well find some nice affordable online programmes from a big state school and get the name recognition that comes along with it.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I am very interested in this sort of option (although it doesn't have to be on a fast-paced schedule), and that degree would likely help me career-wise. If you are willing to share, I'd love to hear more about your specific path to the TESC degree.

Something like this looks like what I'm after, only with a chunk of credits coming from previously completed coursework:

For more discussion on masters programs, you might want to check out a similar site to this one. It's degreeinfo.com, I think.

The community on those "other boards" is rather deplorable though. That's why this is the only board I post on.

How so? I'm a member of both and see good and bad in both places. "Deplorable" certainly sounds harsh and over the top.

The two places serve different purposes really.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I've been reading that forum for years because there is some great information on graduate degrees, but I have hesitated with opening an account there. It's one thing for people to get testy in the off-topic forum, but it's another when people with valid questions are ridiculed and scared off by rude members who are constantly arguing with each other. There has been some ridiculing and testy exchanges here outside of the off-topic forum, but not nearly at the level of the other forum.

Yeah...I will give you that to a degree. Thinking back I didn't post there much until I was looking at a masters programs. Even then it was a somewhat bumpy start. I generally avoid the hot button topics on both forums (there are exceptions Smile ) this helps insulate me from some of the negative issues you guys might be relating to.

I've found that forum to be invaluable in regards to the issue regarding post bac info.

Thanks for all the info, folks!

I've been doing a lot of reading on how the whole process works (and the many options available). And I think I'm going to give the BSBA/GM at Thomas Edison a shot. I live in NJ as well, so I get the in-state tuition for the classes I'd have to take through them. The cost to apply and have my transcript sent to them for review to see what all will transfer is well worth the low cost (about $85 total).

Hopefully soon I'll be posting details about the degree/credit-earning process. Smile

Thanks again!

I'm also an active member of both- and both serve entirely different purposes. If I had questions about graduate school, the "other" forum really is the better site to use. This site serves the undergraduate candidate MUCH better than the other board. Both are necessary Smile
