I was just speaking with someone from COSC and the academic autobiography is going away starting July 1st.
You will now be required to take a capstone course from COSC. I beleive it is a 15 week course.

For those of us who do not know, what is a capstone?

The capstone signifies mastery/culmination of the subject matter (concentration). It is akin to when you lay the *capstone* of a newly constructed building upon completion.
This is very interesting information for me. I submitted my CPS, 2 weeks ago and was not informed of this requirement. I received an email today asking me for the syllabus for my intended Business Strategy course at CSU. They have also denied my business writing credit (to meet the organizational communication requirement). When I matriculated, the ability to substitute the Business Strategy requirement was the most important factor. I suspect this explains the delay of comments on my CPS
I did notice they will be charging a service fee for Visa cards starting July 1 as well. If you pay this way, they will add on 2.75%.

The capstone courses will only be for those admitted to COSC on or after July 1, 2009 so I think you skated on that part.
The capstone courses are for you as a student to show your proficiency in the particular concentration you have chosen for your degree. I guess they decided that this would be best.
I guess they felt the academic autobiographies weren't going so well.

I'm so curious on whether I will be required to take the capstone... I enrolled June 30th in COSC!
I haven't been able to discern from the website whether it's your enrollment date, or whether there's some other cutoff...
Oh well! At least I saved on the fee increase!!

If you enrolled (and paid the academic service fee) on July 30, you are a 2008-09 student - and will NOT be required to take the Capstone. Students who enrolled on July 1 or afterward will (and of course, pay the new rates).
