COSC / Transcript Question
#1
For those who attended COSC (or are enrolled now).. do you know if there is somewhere on the ACORN portal where you can see the transcripts/courses/grades you sent in? I'm asking because it's been 2 weeks since I had SL and Penn Foster send the transcripts over to them... and I haven't received word from COSC yet.

They sent me a username/password to access ACORN.. so I was wondering if it would show there when they receive them.

Thanks.

If you haven't received the preliminary evaluation and just want to see what transcripts they have received:

Admissions tab > Admission Status (left side bar) > View Folder Items

If you have received the preliminary evaluation and/or are enrolled:

Go to the Advising tab and there are links on the left side bar for an Unofficial Transcript and a page that guide you through accessing your advising worksheet.

They are usually pretty quick with adding stuff, but keep in mind it's the holiday season so things might be slower. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info.

I don't have the "Admission Status (left side bar) > View Folder Items". I have the Admissions tab, but everything there looks the same as when I'm not signed in... (tells me how to apply... etc...).

I haven't received the preliminary evaluation yet. In fact, I haven't heard from them at all after I submitted the application. The only thing I got was the automated email with the username/password. It's strange cuz they were bombarding me with e-mails before I applied.. and now, nothing. Maybe its cuz of the holidays. I guess I'll send them an e-mail and ask.

Hello,

I notice that you have taken a few CLEP exams , by any chance do you know how they computed your score? I mean are there a certain amount of questions you have to get right in order to receive a passing score? If so, how many would I have to get correct out of the 100 questions given?

You should have gotten an email telling you who your admissions counselor is. That is who you need to get in touch with. But as you said, things are going slow now because of the holidays.

For what it's worth, the admissions process seemed a bit slow to me when I was going through the process over the summer. But they were always respectful and prompt when answering any questions I had.

I'm at the same point you are (I think). They posted my last two transcripts today (Dec 23) on Acorn.

You don't have a tab that looks like this after you are logged in and click on admissions? After you click on that tab in red, then you click on view folder items on the page that comes up and all the transcript info is in there. Also, not sure of everyone else's experience but In ever received an email with a specific name for my counselor. However, I went to You are here: Admissions > Admission Status > View Admissions Status and at the bottom of that page under "Your Next Step" it said who my admissions advisor is.

Thanks, soliloquy. If I didn't suck so bad at screenshots, I would have put it up myself. Tongue

@Publius2k4, I didn't get that e-mail. I only got an automated one with the Acorn login info. I was able to find out who my admissions counselor is following soliloquy's tutorial tho! Cool

@Soliloquy, thanks a lot man!! I'm so stupid... I didn't see that "Admission Status" link. I had been looking at the links listed under it.

So... I just clicked on that folder and it looks like they got my first SL transcript (44 cr). Still waiting for the PF transcript (3 cr) and the second SL transcript (13 cr).

Under "Admission Status" there's a box that says "Enroll Now" and "Click here if you have been accepted and are ready to enroll as a matriculated student". I tried clicking on that, but it won't let me enroll. I don't know why.. since I have the 9+ credits required for enrollment. My admission status says "Your folder is incomplete". I guess I'll have to wait until all my transcripts are in?

I agree with Publius2k4 regarding COSC's customer service.. they're prompt and helpful when answering questions. But their admissions/enrollment process kind leaves you in the dark.

I applied at COSC too before and had problem finding that link Smile I finally had to do a search in the browser page to turn it up… maybe COSC needs to change it? :p

They won't let you enroll until all of the transcripts that you listed on your application have been received.
