Here is the info about associates degrees at COSC:
Degree Completion: Bachelors and Associates at Charter Oak State College
It seems pretty simple. The requirement for an AA is 60 credits, with 45 liberal arts credits.
The AS requires 60 credits, with 30 liberal arts credits.
You won't have to take the Capstone, just the Cornerstone class.
Also, some of your 60 credits need to be the general ed requirements, which are listed here:
General Education Requirements at Charter Oak State College
You can see which tests fulfill the general ed requirements here on their master list of tests:
http://www.charteroak.edu/Current/Academ...r-list.pdf
I think that the associates there would be very inexpensive. You'd pay $220 per semester, 75 enrollment, 825 for the Cornerstone. You'd have a graduation fee, but I think that might be it...
Hope this helps!

That is what I was looking for, thanks! I'll plug in my credits and see what I can come up with later today. I seen your post about the reduced fees and that is why I am checking in to COSC, looks like it can be done for very little expense and I may only have to take 1-2 additional tests.
Its between COSC and Excelsior now due to costs. I have it figured at $2100 for EC so I'm hoping COSC will be much better.

Ok so I think it would be $220 for one semester at COSC + the $825 for the cornerstone class, plus any graduation fee. I think that was like 200 bucks for the BS, but I don't know if it would be any different with the AA/AS.
So from what I can tell, just over 1k.

I've got a question about the Associates from COSC. Just curious why you would get one? Because from what I can see you only have to have like 20 gen ed. credits and the rest is electives up to 60. Is there a certain reason you are getting an associates? I guess what I'm asking is what would it do? It doesn't have a concentration in anything. Maybe I'm just missing something! lol

I'm still debating on what to do. I am applying to a LPN-BSN program and if you have an AA/AS they will waive the foundational studies requirement for the BSN which equates to 6 more classes or 18 credits which are:
Foreign Lang (6), Phys. Ed (3), Literature (3), Performing Arts (3), Culture (3), History (3).
Based on my CC tuition at $150 a credit hour it would cost me $2700 total. I would absolutely need to take foreign lang, culture and phys ed because I am 100% positive I cannot test out of those, no background and I hate cultural studies and there is no phys ed with lab test option. The rest I could possibly clep out of which would be
These are in addition to the foundational studies I have already completed. I have literary studies already so really its just 15 credits (2250 + books).
Does this make sense? I've already talked myself in and out of getting an AA first and doing it the traditional way. I'm still up in the air on what to do.
Its a toss up between COSC and Excelsior if I do get an AA. With excelsior I only need 2 more easy tests (HTYH and Substance Abuse) but with COSC there are a few harder tests I need to take to finish although the cost is better initially but adding in ECE exams to satisfy the requirements makes them equal.

Okay that makes sense. I can see why you would want to get an AA/AS from COSC. I see that it would be an AA/AS in "General Studies". It just seems weird that there is no set core requirements!
