I must say that, based on the comments here, I have reexamined my thought process. However, I feel that in my case, SL will still be fine as I do not intend to go past a BA at one of the big 3, probably TESC. For my purposes, an AS would probably suffice, but I want to go on to the BA. If there was a reason for me to go further, then I would probably go more CLEP and limit the SL. I only want the AS or BA to validate my years of experience and make it easier to get back to work.
This simple question has produced a lot of information, not only for me but for others as well.

I'm glad it helped you.
Also, I think no matter if you're going to one of Thomas Edison or you're going to a public state university or a local community college like myself, I think we are all united in our desire to our credit outside of the classroom in nontraditional ways for whatever reason: time, money(big one for me. Higher ed. Should be affordable to all!), and access. Everyone should have access to Higher Education and if you come here and pass a few CLEPs with the wonderful advice and help from people here you can walk into a college(Physically and figuratively!) with 3-12+ credits under your belt without ever being on a college campus before and get ahead of the game. Whether you want a nationally recognized degree or a regionally accredited degree, this site has great resources to offer everyone.
