I withdrew from my Sociology course and my Computer Information Systems course earlier this semester, and I am a little worried. I gained provisional acceptance to San Jose State university, but I don't know how withdrawals look to CSU schools and I don't want to risk having my acceptance rescinded. If I take the CLEP exams for these courses, would it basically replace those withdrawals in the eyes of a university? I'm new to CLEP exams and how they work, so I really have no idea if this is a dumb question but i'm currious.

Ask the school in question, not us. CLEP is awarded by each individual school. Different schools have different policies. You will probably be okay. Where you would almost certainly not be okay is if you had an F. Brick and mortar schools generally won't replace an F with credit by exam.
