Does anyone have experience with CLEP acceptance by UOP? I was wondering how long does it take for credit to post, how many credits can you CLEP, do they issue a grade for the results or just a pass / fail.
Thanks

I am a UOP student, and yes...they do accept both CLEP and DSST exams. You first have to get approval through your advisor before beginning study for any examination though.
You can CLEP out of all electives, but not any of your core classes. I was told by my advisor that I have 30 elective credits left, and I can CLEP out of them all (with prior approval). It is also a pass/fail evaluation.

I agree with Machelle. As long as you get prior authorization from your advisor that the CLEP you are taking applies to your electives you are good to go. And you cannot CLEP out of any of the upper division classes.
As for the accounting, I had the same experience. I appealed as far as I could because I took two accounting classes at Point Park University, UoP would not accept them. I ended up taking the UoP accounting classes and they were the exact same material as my Point Park classes. That has been my only real sore spot with UoP, because I feel that those credits should have applied.
