Hi Everyone: I'm stuck and I really need some of your advice.
I have about 9 credits to complete for the Social Sciences category. Do you know if I can do all the credits in Psychology? For example, CLEP-Human Growth and DEV, Clep-Intro to Ed Pyschology, Clep- Intro to Pyschology, etc.
I also value your advice on what Psychology courses overlap. Just bought the Kaplan GRE Psychology hoping that I can get everything I need from it.
Also, I have to complete 9 credits as well in the Math & Science category - I'm enrolled in Aleks -can take Beginning Algebra and Algebra to get 6 credits? I'm not good at Math so it's going really slow for me and I'm on my fourth month of subscription. I'm really not sure what else I can take to satisfy the other 3 credit requirement.
I'm hoping to complete all this in the next 4 weeks which will complete the requirements for a degree since I'm heading back overseas on assignment.
Thanks as always,

I can't say about the SS for the Psych courses but if they are you should not have any problem doing all three in 4 weeks. The 3 listed Intro, HG&D and Ed Pscych all overlap quite nicely. The Kaplan book will not have enough info, I have that same book and it is great as a quick reference for the major topics but it is not enough for the test. The REA books for each exam are perfect and were right on with what I needed for the test. The Peterson's tests were a really good gauge too. You have to really buckle down and do all three 1-2-3 as for studying and taking the test but it is very do-able in my opinion. When the exams overlap like that I say it is best to just go-go-go on them and do not let any time slip in between each study-prep-exam cycle.
There is lots of info on each exam on the Specific feedback board too. Good luck!

Hi Joanne: Thanks for your quick response. Too bad about the Kaplan book, I guess I'll return it. The Barnes & Noble did not have the REA books so I guess I will check elsewhere. In the meantime, I'll stick with IC and Petersons and whatever else I can find on the internet.
Thanks again.

If you are at TESC, you can use various ALEKS classes without duplication. Also, you can take CLEP College Math, which is technically speaking, an easier math without overlap of your ALEKS algebra (and 6 credits!).
Don't feel too bad about ALEKS going "slow" my son is in his 5th month, and it is what it is- so what if it's another month? Any college class is that long anyway, and at least this way you have been in the comfort of your own home, open book study, and a fraction of the cost! PLUS, once you test at 70% you get to stop! Not the case in a classroom class! Keep on pluggin' away, you're doing great!
P.S. the CLEP psychs are all accepted at TESC without duplication.

Jennifer, Are you saying ALEKS Beginning and Intermediate Algebra don't duplicate College Math CLEP? Great news if true!

I'm about 80% sure that this is true- however, I'm learning about ALEKS @ TESC right along with everyone else here- it's kinda new- so it's best to double check with an advisor first.(and then post your answer here!!)

I believe CLEP college algebra=intermediate algebra. As they allow one to take both college math and college algebra Im guessing at least the int. algebra class should count.

That's what I think too. I'm still not 100% sure how they transcript intro to algebra. I know that it is coming in, but I don't know as "what." I didnt think it would be 100 level, but the ALEKS thread is showing otherwise. So, I think you should be able to get 3 for intro algebra, 3 for inter algebra, and 6 for CLEP college math without duplication at all. (even though the material will certainly be significant in overlap) I think, if you can do inter algebra, you should grab the "freebie" intro algebra- and test college math all in the same month.
Again, I think there are only 2 people reporting ALEKS credit on their transcript from TESC at this point, so it's too early to say for sure what's what.
