CLEP Microeconomics
#1
I am studying the clep micro flashcards and i wanted to know if the instantcert alone is sufficient; if you study the material enough to understand it. I haven't seen many posts on this test, so i thought i would ask. Thanks.

Just in general, I don't know if any one/single source is ever enough. I know for me the concepts involved in BOTH micro and macro economics exams needed amplification from other sources - particularly the standard deviants videos. IC is a GREAT SOURCE but it's always great to have other options the ensure that you PASS - GOOD LUCK!!

my husband and i used instantcert almost exclusively, with just googling a few things. we understood all the concepts and got 69 and 68. we did take macroeconomics first and that helped us.

are you recommending macro before micro, or did it just help to have taken one of the two before the other? thanks.

i can only tell you what my husband and i did. macroeconomics was the second clep test i took after intro to soc (70, way overstudied for a p/f test, but i didn't know what to expect). it took three very hard weeks to get ready for the macro test, and there were times when i was ready to throw in the towel, including getting my degree. i hadn't been in school since the late seventies, so this was a huge adjustment for me. i thought that instantcert did an excellent job on the macro but i thought it was helpful to have some previous understanding of some of the concepts for micro. so i guess i would say that i am glad that we took macro first, then micro.

i also have to add that this forum site was a big help to me at that time. everyone is so positive and saying that yes, this can be done, at times it may not be easy, there might be setbacks, but we are doing it and you can too!

we also just used intantcert and googled a few things for both macro and micro, so it can be done. we even got an a from excelsior. Smile just make sure that you understand all the concepts well.

I took everyone's advice; I took macro before micro. I scored a 72 on the macro clep today, so thanks for the advice. I used IC and Princeton Review Cracking the AP micro/macro book for clarification. Big Grin
