I came back for my niece she will be graduating high school this week and is going to go to Coastal Carolina University. She lives in Myrtle Beach SC so this is really an economic decision for her. There will be some state and county scholarships she can use and she can continue working. She is willing and interested in saving time and money by testing out of what she can. I did the research and CCU accepts most CLEP exams for 3-4 credits.

My questions;

1)  how much have the CLEP changed in the last couple of years, are they updated, do the old study materials still help??

2) has anyone tried convincing a school that only takes CLEP to accept anything else?

3) Is there anything else I need to know that has changed in the last 2-3 years.

Thank you all for still being here, I never would have made it through with out the wonderful people on Degree Forum

If she wants to do a state school using the test or method I would look at WCU they’re one of the few 4 years that take dsst.

If she wanted to do just an AA I can recommend RCCC in concord NC. They take dsst and Clep minimum 16 credit residency tho.

I'll second Western Carolina University. They've reduced their full-time, in-state tuition to a flat $500 per semester starting Fall 2018. Out of state is reduced as well, but I can't recall the exact price. I'm not sure how long this reduction will last, but its currently funded through Summer 2019.
