CLEP French Feedback/Review
#1
Just did French today and got a 71, my second highest score yet.

Okay I studied French for a long time so this was a gimme, even so here are some suggestions.

1) take notes during the listening portions of the exam, often you will be barraged with numbers and things to remember, notes helped me.

2) Read at least a few short stories the week before you take the test so you can start to think in French.

3) Go with your gut if you are not sure of an answer.

Gratisair - I concur with your recommendations about writing down keywords during the auditory part - it does go by quickly.

I also took French as a gimme and got 12 semester credits out of it - which for the exam time you cannot beat!

I borrowed the PIMSLEUR French language CDs from my local library and would listen to them on my way to and from work every day for about 6 weeks. This helped to refresh "my french language ear" which was a little rusty - it also reminded me of some of the grammar exceptions.

I also studied verb conjugations - another library book I borrowed.

I looked over the net and could not find any decent CLEP specific study materials for this exam - in fact I remember spending $45 for a study guide download that was a piece of garbage...I stuck with the library after that as they have quite a lot of foreign language materials for French - Spanish and some German.
