CLEP Credit Expiration on TESU?
#1
CLEP - College-Level Exam Program

I was reading this page on TESU's website. This is a CLEP-TESU Equivalency chart, but I noticed that the credits seem to expire by 2018? I had the impression CLEP credits were valid for years. Maybe I misinterpreted it. Any help? Thanks.

It is based on ACE expiration dates. Once the exam is taken then the score is good for years but the exam is only ACE recommended for a few years at a time and the ACE recommendation could be renewed or the exam could be discontinued.

That expiration date refers to the version/renewal of the specific test. So, in theory, an exam that "expires" on 2/28/2018 means that before 2/28/2018 will be one version, but exams after that will be a new version.

There were a good number of exams that were downgraded from 6 to 3 credits last time there was renewal, but there really aren't many left that could be downgraded, so if I were playing the odds, I wouldn't expect changes in the number of credits - rather just refreshed exams. (History hasn't been updated since 2001 for instance, so some are really due for being refreshed!)

So they won't accept the class after that date? Or will they only deny it if the exam is discontinued?
#5
They will accept it if you completed it before the expiration date. So if you complete the course on 2/28/2018, but submit the course on 3/1 (or 4/1, or 12/1/2020, etc), they'll still accept it because you completed it before it expired.

If it's renewed or extended, that's just more time that you have to take the exam.

If a course expires on ACE's website (not TESU's) and CLEP does not renew, then yes, you won't get credit for completing it after the expiration date.

It's not happening. CLEP has been around since the 70's. What you'll see, if anything, is that the exams will be refreshed. It will have new or reworded questions, nothing more.

So essentially I have nothing to worry about, and I should just shut up :p
