When you take the exams do the results say where they are from like if you studied with Study.com or just took a CLEP test on the ACE registry, I ask this because the school I was looking to transfer for accepts ACE for not DSST. Will they know I did it at Study.com or if I tested at a CLEP center?
thanks

You can study for CLEP exams through Study.com, but I don't believe they serve as a testing center.
Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question.

My question might be confusing. I guess I am just asking how it shows up. Do CLEP show that you studied at study.com or SL or Saylor? I wanted to transfer to FIU but they dont accept SL. But arent we just using SL to study to take CLEP/ACE tests?

If you took the CLEP exam then it will show CLEP when your results are sent to the school.
If you take Study.com exams or SL courses for credit instead of CLEP, your ACE transcript will say where you earned the credit from.

ooooo! So when you take study.com and SL exams they are not CLEP. That was what the college was saying. I was so confused and got frustrated. I thought they all were CLEP/ACE exams and all go on the ACE registry

CLEP is accepted by a lot more schools than ACE. But if you are attending TESU, it doesn't really matter to them.
DSST is different than CLEP and different than ACE.
TECEPs are also different.
But there are a bunch of ACE providers. SL, Study.com, etc.

CLEP & DSST are subsets of ACE (they are both ACE-approved), but are their own thing. You can send your CLEP and DSST test scores directly to the schools from the testing centers.
SL, Study.com, etc. are course providers that are also ACE-approved, but are definitely not CLEP/DSST exams. They are actual courses.
You sign up for a CLEP exam on their website, then go to a testing center (normally a college) to sit for the exam. You take DSST's at testing centers as well (again usually colleges).

The origin of credit is always discovered- so if College A puts it on a transcript and you send that to College B, there is no change that happens simply because it was on College A's transcript. The credit remains original.
If a college accepts ACE credit and not DSST, that is an exceptionally backward situation, one that I would suggest you follow up on - frankly, I'm not sure I believe it. If the college accepts ACE via their participation in the Alternative Credit Project, that makes sense, but otherwise, I think that is an error. You should follow up with the college's REGISTRAR (the person with that title) and get clarity (written is better). You'll also want to let them know that DSST is the same as DANTES. EDIT to ask: can you share a link to that policy? Thanks.
