Yes, I know we don't talk too much here about regular classes, but has anyone here taken a butt-in-seat version with real labs:
Introduction to Chemistry (CHEM110)
and
Microbiology (BIOL230)
If so, give a shout. I have a few questions.

My husband is the head of the Science department at the High School and he loves to do nothing but talk about Chemistry or Physics. He would be happy to help you with anything at all. Just PM and he can call you or answer an email.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm trying to decide if I should take only Intro to Chemistry (no re-req), or if I can pull off taking Into Chemistry and Microbiology (only bio101 prereq- I meet that).
An honest assessment of my ability and skills- My only "B" grade -ever- was in biology, I'm otherwise an "A" student. So, I'm nervous about not being good in science. That "B" was pure torture in every way- and was a result of high score homework off-set by a 60-something final exam. Sitting here now, I do not have a grasp on that material. My biology class was online, and I firmly believe if I had been in a class setting with a lab/teacher, that I could have grasped the info a little better- it was all over my head.
Given that info- is it possible to take Microbiology and Intro Chemistry (both with labs) in the same semester and pull of an A in each? I know there are a dozen variables, but you can assume I am highly motivated and give it 100% I just wonder if I'm not asking for trouble by combining those 2 classes in one semester.
So, if you have taken both- I need some advice. If I end up with lower grades, I cut down my changes of being accepted into the nursing program here. On the other hand, these are both butt-in-seat with lab, so it is a very "hands on" opportunity with a teacher, so I'm inclined to think I can do it....help!

Jennifer,
A lot of variables here, but with your work ethic, I'm sure you'll do fine. I double majored in Bio & Chem a couple of decades ago and finished it up in three years. I always had at least two science courses w/lab and as many as four! I'm a science/math guy, but I would bet a paycheck your work ethic will get you the A's you need. Let us know how it goes!

Jennifer,
Are you thinking of taking both of those in a 16 week program or an 8 week program? Sounds pretty tough.
My daughter is currently in Microbiology. I can have her to PM you back if you PM me with specific questions. She would be willing to talk to you by phone as well.
She is quite good at math and science. So, yes she has had chemistry as well (although it was not her favorite class she did well.)
Just let me know. You can PM your phone number or just specific questions and I will have her to answer you or call you.

Thanks so much!!
Actually, these would be in the fall, and would be 16 weeks. I'm still several months away from starting, but I will certainly keep your offer in mind!

Jennifer I wasn't the brightest bulb in college my first time around but managed both of those courses with another anatomy with lab and Aced all three, they sort of intermingled. Wouldn't recommend any other courses during that timeframe.
