Business Law - A BREEZE
#1
Just finished Business Law today and passed with a 65. I did very little study and IC is plenty sufficient for a comfortable pass on this one.

If you have watched any TV Law shows or read any John Grisham then you will already be half-prepard for test.

I have about 5-6 tests to go now and I would not mind some advice.
I am going to take Organizational Behavior and Ethics exams from EC so I can get upper-level business credit. I am thinking of taking Money and Banking and the DSST Finance as my other 2 upper-level requirements and then I have financial accounting and finance still to take. I guess that makes 6 left...

Anyone have an opinion on what order to take these in???

thanks

Do you have any idea if you are going to take the CLEP or DSST for financial accounting? I plan on taking one or the other in May and I've tried to get some info if one is better to take over the other and I've come up empty handed. I'm wondering if you've made a decision and if so, why you chose one test format over the other.

I can't help on your questions though, as I haven't taken any of those exams. Sorry!

Thanks -

No - I have not decided - there is not a lot of information in the "exam" forum on either...let me know if you decide and what you think

BMills you said,

"I am going to take Organizational Behavior and Ethics exams from EC so I can get upper-level business credit. I am thinking of taking Money and Banking and the DSST Finance as my other 2 upper-level requirements"

Beware, although this is a required course or exam, Excelsior does not count DSST Finance toward your Business upper level elective credits. This is stated in their catalog.

I took DSST Money and Banking, DSST Management Information Systems, ECE Org Behavior, ECE Human Resources for the required upper level business electives.

Finance was tough for me because at the time I found there was very little study material. I got a 47, 46 was passing. I guessed my way through it. I didn't use Instant Cert. I either wasn't aware of them or the flash cards for this exam didn't exist at that time.

The Money and banking is supposed to be difficult. It didn't seem too bad, but my score was only a 54. Excelsior granted an B for this.

I did better with DSST Management Information Systems with a score of 62. This is a relatively easy exam for upper level credit. Make no mistake though, DSST grades go towards your GPA, so study. Excelsior granted an A for this.

I received a C on Org Behavior and Human Resource Management. Org Behavior was tough for me, even with Excelsior's Practice Exam. However, Human Resource Management was much easier, for me.

If you are taking Operations Mgt TECEP, be aware the new passing score is 50, not 60. According to one of the ladies at Thomas Edison, "no one was passing it at 60". I got a 57, was a tough exam, very passable at 50 though.

If you use Instant Cert and the text for Operations Mgt TECEP, you can't go wrong. Don't study to much of the formulas, except know Poisson distribution (exponential arrivals), Critical Path expected time, and Learning Curve.
