I should have posted this sooner.
I know most of the people here are adults but if you are parent of high school student, you might find this of interest.
Boys state and girls state are offered by the American Legion. Several states offer college credit for attending. It's for highschool students between their junior and senior years of high school. I know in Oklahoma homeschool students are welcome because both of sons attended.
My boys refer to the nine day experience as one of the best things they've ever participated in.
It's very conservative program so if that bothers you, you might want to forget about it.
