Bombed Biology!!
#1
I studied for almost a month, going over every biology section more than twice and reading all of passyourclass material repeatedly. The test was nothing like anything I’d studied or read in ANY of the material from ANY resource I used. I scored a 49 !!! This really sucks because it was the last class I needed to graduate.

I will be taking the DSST Your Health and You test next week so I can graduate.

passyourclass.com will be getting a VERY nasty email from me very soon.

I haven't taken this exam nor do I have this particular passyourclass.com study guide, but I can say I purchased 3 of their guides from the author on eBay, one for Natural Sciences. They are sub-par, at best; a bare bones outline of what's in the exam, if that. I don't recommend these guides at all. The plus side is I've heard they have a money back guarantee that they do abide by.

Yes. LMAO

My academic advisor told me it will satisfy my 3 science credits needed to graduate. I will be taking it either next Friday or the following Monday (28th or 1st of May)

nwcc,

That's fantastic! I passed Here's to Your Health last month using Instantcert, and found it to be a relatively straightfoward exam. Certainly, it is not in the same ballfield as Chemistry, Biology, or Nuclear Physics.

This is great news for both you and RBOWMAN. I can't think of an easier way to satisfy your science requirement.

Don't take it for granted though! Even though it is not a difficult exam, you will want to study hard for it since a mishap on this exam would be disastrous (six month wait to retake it, or attempt a much more difficult science exam).

I just finished going through ALL of the InstantCert material (took a couple of hours) and knew approximately 98% of it. That is definiately encouraging. Just waiting for the college to call me telling me they have the exam in hand and for me to come and take. Actually looking forward to this test.

Sorry to hear that you failed! You were so close!

Just a couple of things:
1> Make sure you're studying the explanations--not just memorizing the blanks

2> If the test is critical to you, then you may want to supplement. With tough CLEP exams, you'd supplement with the Collegeboard study guide, cause that can usually boost your score a few points. With Dantes, go to http://www.getcollegecredit.com, and on the left-hand side, you'll see a link to their 50-question practice exams. With Biology, 1 extra point was all you needed!

3> Make sure you're using some basic test-taking skills to include:
a) don't leave any questions blank; answer EVERY question
b) don't spend too much time on one question; mark the questions you have trouble with, and do all of the easy ones first and come back to the hard ones later
c) don't second-guess yourself. Usually your instincts will be true, especially with Dantes, where sometimes the answer seems too obvious

Good luck and keep us posted!

Heres to Your Health is a nice test. Pretty straight forward, not timed and you have good study material at this site. I studyed with just InstantCert alone for two days and did well. You will be fine on this one.

Thanks, I know and it makes me sick! But no use crying over spilled milk,; only move forward now.

Just a couple of things:
1> Make sure you're studying the explanations--not just memorizing the blanks

What was cool is that I could give the explainations to almost all of the InstantCert material; not just memorizing the answer.
