Been studying off and on for about 11 months, hard core for the last month. Did well on both of the first Petersons (67 on the first one 72 on second) but I just bombed the third with a 40. Am I in trouble? I have to pass this tomorrow or graduation is in jeopardy...

Petersons tests tend to do stuff like that. Odds are you're fine.

11 months of study? You could have taken 4 full semesters of bio in that time.

It was off and on because I was taking other classes. Im ClEPing this because I have a job and a family and just dont have time to go to class several times a week and then spend an entire evening in a lab. I just keep scaring myself out of taking it.

How similar are the Petersons in relation to the layout of the CLEP?

When I took the Biology I scored 48 on the first one (with no studying), 55 on the second one (after studying), and 50 on the third one (day before I took the test). I think you are more than prepared. Petersons tend to be hard.
In regard to layout, it is pretty similar I think. If this is your first CLEP, there is a tutorial you can take before you start the test.

If by layout you mean how the answers and what not are on the CLEP it's pretty much identical. There are 5 answers per question on a CLEP, and the # of questions and time limit is the same on the peterson's as the real CLEP. There may be, for example, 98 questions instead of 100, or 86 instead of 85, but other than that it's the same.

It was a bit overwhelming but I just had to relax.
