I'm talking about legit RA schools - like your local state university, or private (around here in San Diego, it would be UCSD, SDSU, CSU San Marcos, University of San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene, etc.).

I agree about the local college thing. Around here it really does have more clout than most anything else. Sure, some impressive name will get attention but for the average MBA or whatever, you'll get your foot in the door/be able to develop a connection a lot faster if they recognize the school.
