Best online courses- dyslexia
#1
Hello,
I am new to learning about CLEP and dual credit for H.S./college. I homeschool my kids and am interested in the best way for my 14 year old son who is dyslexic to learn and study for CLEP exams while eating dual credit. I'm looking primarily for things he can do that are video based- too much reading will not be good, so I'm hoping to avoid text book type of studying. I know about Learner.org, Education Portal and Khan Academy but I'm having a hard time singling out which of those are best. Any thoughts and suggestions? I would like to start with American History or something that is not too challenging for his first course. Thanks!

I've done some sciences with Khan Academy and a couple psychology exams and one sociology exam with Education Portal. I personally prefer Education Portal as their courses are aligned to the exams I take and they use a lot of graphics to demonstrate concepts. Guess it depends a lot on the type of course being taken and who's the video instructor.

Are there specific exams that line up with Education Portal? I am looking into using Thomas Edison for his degree, does that matter in terms of what exam he takes?

Do you have a specific degree in mind? Usually, it's highly recommended to take exams with a target degree in mind and a plan worked out. Not all exams will apply to all degrees, so just picking and taking exams "randomly" could lead to wasted credits, time, and money.
Here's a list of Education Portal's college-level courses... List of All Online College Courses & Video Lessons - Education Portal To find out which exam the course is aligned to, click on the course title, below the title click "Read More". Also, scroll down to "Course Chapters" and check if the course is 100% developed or has a large percentage developed.
