Best Test to Take Cold
#1
First of all, my disclaimer. I don't ever recommend that anyone take any test cold. You should always study and don't be swayed by the feedback that says a test is "easy."

Ok.. disclaimer out of the way, here's my question: I have to take ECE Labor Relations on March 29 and am also SUPER busy with my Capstone class. I still need two more credits, which I was planning on getting through FEMA, and now I find out I can't go that route due to the graduation deadline to receive credits and possible FEMA delays. I'd like to just stick with DSST/CLEP because I know that those don't take longer than 3 weeks to get to COSC.

Anyhow, I don't have a lot of study time between the kids, hubby, travel, ECE and capstone. What test can I take cold or pretty close to cold to knock out these last two elective credits? I would love to hear everyone's opinions.

See my signature for the tests I've already taken. If there is something that I've already studied for that partners with another test well, I would consider that too (such as management and supervision)

Thanks!!!!

I know this does not help but I received the FEMA transcript within a week of completing the classes, couldn't you knock out 2 of them in the next day or so and request a transcript. It may show up before the 29th, I guess it depends on the delay at COSC, but FEMA is pretty quick from what I understand. It wouldn't hurt to try it out in case something else arises where you need a miscellaneous credit.

@wb.john. Natural Sciences? Really? I would have never thought of that one. I'm going to have to glance at the feedback forum. I really want to take the Info Sys CLEP, but my advisor seemed to think that would duplicate credits. I'm not sure if it would because I have seen that others here take all 3 of the computer tests. The Spanish test you mentioned would be my favorite, but I am all maxed out on Spanish credits, darn it!!

@Kester - I think the big deal with the FEMA's is that COSC does not take them directly. They have to be transcribed and transferred from another school. COSC policy states that your transfer credits need to be in a full four months before graduation. That being said, they might not strictly enforce the policy. It could be just one of those things that they put in writing just in case someone sends credits in the day before graduation and wants to get their cap and gown. I really need to take the FEMA's for work, so it might be worth a shot.

Hmm... It takes a lot of time to figure out how to spend the least time on a test Wink

**Oops never mind, I just noticed you already have intro to business. Another good test might be intro to law enforcement or criminal justice after taking american government, ethics, and law I would think you have the knowledge base to take one of those exams.

Thanks for the ideas.. I looked through the specific forum on the different suggestions and think I'm going to try Intro to Law Enforcement.

I think that I've already done the tests that I can take truly cold, but it seems like I could do this one with just a few hours review.... well, I'm going to attempt it with just a few hours, so we'll see how it goes. hilarious

If I pass, it will be my last DSST, with my upcoming ECE on 3/29 being the very last test. Sad Got my email from COSC this morning with cap and gown ordering instructions. OMG can't believe it's this close!!!!!

Update: For anyone that's interested, I just got back from taking Intro to Law Enforcement. This is such an easy test... I can't believe more people don't take it. You have to know a few court cases and a couple of amendments and everything else is pretty much common sense. I went through the IC cards once, the specific forum feedback, and that's it. Total of about 3 hours of study. It was also an older DSST, so scoring 63 will give me a letter grade of A at COSC. yay!!

It was my last DSST. Sad

Congratulations, especially since it's your last DSST! I considered this one but thought it sounded hard, so I chose some psychologies instead. Glad I was wrong about it Big Grin
